Aldiss

I was returning something purchased online,when I walked in store with a box, nobody offered to help me, it could be suggested the team down stairs actively turned away. I eventually found a desk downstairs and I asked where I can return this, ( the box) I was asked what was in it. When I told them I was told, that’s not us that’s the desk upstairs. I went upstairs and took me a few moments to find the desk up stairs, and when I walked to the desk, one member of staff looked at me and ‘oh no’! When a member of the team helped me they asked if I had a receipt, but the only emails I had received from Aldiss was a PayPal payment and 4 from fedex. I said there must be one in the unopened box, so I found it and handed it over. The gentleman then said thank you, we’ll get this refunded as he was leaving my receipt and Denby plate set on the side. I then had to ask for a receipt to say I had left the parcel. He then went on his computer, added some details and then gave me a printed receipt that had retuned hand written on it! 10 mins later I had my refund showing my PayPal. Dissatisfied the service was terrible and the store was not busy either.

I used click and collect from my local store as it said the item I wanted was in stock. In the end I waited a week for it to be ready for collection. They fail to tell you on the website that click and collect closes every day at 4pm so for me to collect it it has made me leave work early costing me money. I wish I brought the same item elsewhere it would have been delivered to my door and it wouldn't of cost me more money!

Brilliant department store. We went to look at sofas but this place had so much more. We have listed a sofa that we like but the surprise was the utilities section. We bought a bread bin but had a good look round at the cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils on sale. The coffee shop was lovely too. We enjoyed a latte, cappuccino and scone. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. We will go back.

We have been loyal customer for many years at Aldiss Fakenham and Norwich Store. We have just purchased a 3 piece suite from the Norwich store. The salesman Phillip and the delivery guys were excellent. The after sales leaves much to be desired.Both the chairs were perfect but the sofa seat cushion was badly stitched i emailed Aldiss and would have thought a representative would have paid a visit instead I received an email asking to send a photo of the issue. After Aldiss had forwarded the photo to the Manufacturer which was UK based another reason for purchasing British made. I was then asked to send a sample of the cushion and the detailed information which could be found under the cushion. I am now waiting for a replacement cushion. No goodwill offered. We could have purchased the same furniture same price and free delivery from another store but as Aldiss was our local store and we have always been happy with the service received up to now we decided to give Aldiss the order but, in future purchases we will reconsider where we shop

We use the Fakenham Aldiss store regularly and recently made a large furniture order and received vouchers to use. We find the Fakenham staff are always charming, polite and friendly .it’s a pleasure to shop there . However tonight I made the mistake of using the NORWICH Store for the first time . I was returning some items purchased 2days before at Fakenham. Fakenham staff said it was OK to return to Norwich, as I work in the city. I was dealing with a cashier and she was really nice. But another staff member came over to offer advice. This other woman was rude, condescending and bad tempered. She wasn’t happy with me returning items and gave the impression it was all too much trouble. She heavily criticised her colleagues at Fakenham for not doing it ‘right’ and gave the impression she thinks very poorly of the Fakenham staff, almost as if the Norwich store is superior to them. This is so unprofessional. She said she would have rung Fakenham to find out ‘what they had been doing’ but that store was closed. She was acting like I had done something terrible and I asked her what her issue was with me . She wasn’t serving me and I asked her to not talk to me as she was upsetting me, but she continued talking and complaining. She is a bully and she is loud and intimidating. An older person may have been frightened by her attitude. She continued to lean over the counter and offer unsolicited advice to the other staff member serving me. The lady serving me was so lovely and at the end she gave me a very apologetic look and mouthed ‘sorry’ to me. She is a credit to you as are all the staff I’ve ever dealt with at Fakenham .The rude woman is the opposite. I suggest she should not be working with the public. Her customer service is abysmal. I got there about 5.30pm, but my transaction was totally finished at 6pm and I was walking out, so I didn’t make anyone late. Another woman came up I think she was a manager . I told her the woman was rude and the other lady was lovely as are Fakenham staff. The manager just stared at me blankly and didn’t reply . She’s an liability as a staff member and I will never set foot in your store again . I regret spending as much money as we did on our furniture .
